Friday, July 20, 2007 woah..sometimes He can be really obvious. haha...in terms of his intentions, anyway! thank you, Lord, for being so obvious, that even a blind fool like me could not possible miss your message.
I was randomly flipping through the book of Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth earlier, and decided to have a browse at thursday's gospel readings. however, instead of thursday's readings, i mistakenly glanced at the page reference for wednesday's readings instead. wed's gospel was Mt11:25-27...on how the Good News is revealed not to the learned, but to the simple. typically, the interpretation of this reading is that our faiths should be like that of children: child-like an innocent, uncorrupted by the ways of the world etc. that of our will vs the Lord's will. however, this did not strike a particularly strong chord in me. normally, (being the lazy person I am) i would only look at the gospel reading for the day and ignore the other two readings ie the first reading and responsorial psalm, but since the gospel message didnt strike me as particularly powerful, i wanted to "give it a second shot" and casually glanced at the first reading as well... this time, the reading was Ex3:1-6, 9-12. the Call of Moses. Wow!!! haha..i really wasnt expecting such a shockingly clear message. the thing is, only today i had attended a workshop for training to be a Cell Group Leader in CSS, but the thing is i've been having my doubts that i wasnt worthy, not good enough, not charismatic enough etc etc. to be honest, i hadnt even really prayed very hard about this, for him to show me a sign or anything. but just when u least expect it, there he goes with 'slap-in-the-face' clarity, a blatantly clear message that only a fool would dare ignore. "...Here I am, come no nearer. Take off your sandals, for the place you are standing on is holy ground. I am the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, ...of Isaac, ...of Jacob." "...yes indeed, the cry...has reached me...so now I am sending you..." Moses replied: "who am I to go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" "I shall be with you, and this is the sign by which you will know that I was the one who sent you." Lord, I am truly unworthy. but if it is your will, having empowered me with this affirmation, allow me to be an instrument to serve your people. raneth hopped off at 1:43 am
