Friday, August 26, 2005 my deepest condolences to alex and his family..alex seems pretty okay. i guess at his age he's more mature than i was to come to terms with the death of his loved one. let us continue to pray for his soul.
it's a sobering thing - death..human tragedy usually tends to bring out the softer side of people.. hmmm, i wonder why i said that..i mean, i guess it's true right? perhaps it more tends to make people soften up..yea, that's what it does. it makes people stop and think about things..about the meaning of life and stuff like that. and then they start to think about their loved ones too, and how precious they are, and maybe even how they've been neglecting them. i know i have..that's why i decided to pay a visit to my maternal grandma the other day.. she's such a nice lady. always doting on me..:p haha..but i feel guilty troubling her cos she'd usually take the effort to cook whenever i go up - and my, is grandma's cooking heavenly! i guess all she asks for (and not even expecting, of course, such is her generosity) i suppose is my companionship. and i did feel a little bad leaving to join my cousin downstairs for a little street soccer, but i guess she doesn't really mind..but i know i should make it a point to visit her more often now..especially on the weekends. things are going pretty okay in the choir. (the sunday 5.30pm filipino choir, that i'm in) pretty "smooth-sailing"..i guess it wasn't necessary for me to worry so much..what with committment of our members and our organist shortage. sheesh..i guess it's been so long that i really sat down and had a chat with 'TGUT' - as a friend of mine used to refer to Him - the Guy up There.. i've forgotten everything about "lifting it all up to him" and stuff.. ... i'm going back to the Emmanuel's choir in OLSS(our lady star of the sea)-better known as the children's choir.. well, the 'children' there are really teenagers now - mostly - and five years really is quite a long time. which is why i had some difficulty recognising them..but thanks to liane who waved to me, i sorta managed to wriggle my way back in. okay, to be fair uncle mervyn(our conductor), uncle paul(our organist) and dominic were really warm towards me and welcomed me with open arms - making me feel somewhat like the prodigal son, but really im glad to be back in this wonderful family - the family of the Emmanuel's Choir! i know it's probably not fair for me to draw comparisons, but i guess the fact that i'd been with them for 5 years - pri 5 through sec 3 - compared to the relatively short one year seven months i've been with the BCK choir (the one in christ the king) makes my new choir feel like 'just' a closely-knit community (and perhaps the age gap might have a part to play too)..but anyway, i have no regrets joining this new choir and i love them just the same =) signing off.. raneth hopped off at 8:50 am
