oops...okkae, i noe i didnt keep my promise...but i only said id try! been so busy these past few days: SOC, IPPT are finally outa the way! whoopie... oh yea, and we won the Games Day too for the second time running!! yeah! two days off for everyone...:)

jus came back from street soccer...took a whack to the ankle, but that's okay...after all, it's a whole 7 days block leave after this saturday's PASSING OUT PARADE!! haha..hopefully i'll be able to hang out with all my buddies again; sigh...it's been too long...

helped out Little Dippers with their Zoo outing earlier - abt half of YLM was there: Edward, Mabel, Poon, Matt, Stefan, Jules n Diane too (hope i didnt leave anyone out!) i guess it turned out pretty okay...but the parents were generally more interested in solving the puzzles than their children! :p hehe.. The kids did get involved in the post-picnic games though - haha, thats a relief!

i was paired up with daryl spyke to guide a group of three parents (actually, it was two parents and a tuition teacher, as i later found out) and their 5 children. particularly drawn to the tuition tr. n her nine yr old student due to the latter's relative introvertedness, i eventually managed to get her engaged in conversation. gazing at the petite figure, who had her right forearm in a cast, she told me tt her brother was in DB...from the nonchalence in the tone of her voice, i doubted if she knew that DB stood for detention barracks - you'd have to have committed some pretty serious offence for the SAF to send you there - and i wondered if she was missing her big bro..sigh, with both parents probably too busy to look after her, and with her brother gone away, it must be pretty hard for her.. later halfway thru the games when caroline, her tuitn tr, suggested tt they leave for home early (using "ur parents want you home early" as an excuse - they mostly communicated in mardarin, btw) my heart melted as tears welled up in her eyes. though through her sobbing and my persuasion she was eventually allowed to stay for the whole programme, i really felt sorry for poor Jia Si(i think tt was her name: it was hand-written on her cast).
somehow, i know the Lord had allowed me to learn of this girl's plight, yet, i felt so powerless to help her..to offer her some form of comfort..at the tender age of barely a decade, i do not know if anything that she experienced on this zoo excursion would have an impact on her life - perhaps tt is too much to expect - but with her tuition teacher as the only "regular" church-goer known to her, i pray that one day she would become acquainted with our Lord and Saviour; that He would one day come into her life and take all her troubles away. Lord Jesus, in Your Most Holy name, this i pray. Amen.
