hi all! im back...on mainland that is. the army isnt as bad as i had thought initially...at times i even found it quite amusing...

i mean, with only 2WOs (2nd Warrant Officers, a rank usu held by old guns abt to retire frm the army) for your commanding officers, soldier welfare is held in high emphasis - perhaps too high an emphasis...let me explain: for example, while W company is doing push-ups for their ill-discipline, my own company (S company) is watching on from the nearby training shed - having our dinner!! ...and when it was our turn to be punished, all our sergeants made us do was a measly 6 pushups! okay, i know that we're new recruits n all but should they really be going so easy on us? what kind of soldiers is this kind of 'lax training regimentation going to produce?? it's quite scary, really, to think that we are the one's going to defend the country from the enemy, yet we're allowed to be such softies... ...

has it got sumtin to do with the fact that we've supposedly got a "white horse" among our ranks? - someone who gets special treatment b'cos of their connections; a minister's son, for example...boy, would i love to weed out that brat..in fact, some of us already suspect who he is - but our attempts to confirm his true identity so far have been smoked and brushed off by our platoon sergeants... sigh...if only it were remotely possible to confront our officers directly on the matter, WITHOUT the inevitability of confinement/being charged under multiple chapters of the Penal Code, thus spending the rest of one's days in the detention barracks...
