Today's the feast day of St. Jerome, who translated the Old Testament from greek & hebrew into latin, the official language of the catholic church in tt time..
i was rather distracted during mass today..too stressed, i think..somehow jus couldnt put away all the worries, troubles...but after mass i met cass n clarence (who for once in a long time wasn't in sch unifm ;>). felt better after talking to cass..abt stuff tt happened recently, abt the mission trip..she said i shouldn't worry abt the whole thing and jus 'don't do anything' and to always 'give people the benefit of the doubt'...clarence gave me a similar piece of advice, saying i was prob jus paranoid (maybe i am) and that i should just 'be myself'...i'll try to take their advice..

also attended the Divine Mercy mass... (8 to abt 9:30pm) wonder what made me go...maybe coz ben asked me to(when i bumped into him at the traffic light), or maybe coz my heart wasn't really at mass earlier.. aniwae, whatever the reason, i did go. the celebrant was this funny philipino priest and his homily was really quite animated. he used the analogy of an aunty carrying loads of heavy plastic bags of her early morning marketing (with arms spread outward at his sides to illustrate his description), then when someone would offer to help her carry them, she hurriedly would insist "no, no, no..i can manage"..but later when she reached home she'd be complaining of back pains, shoulder aches etc =P

it's kinda like us trying to deal with the crosses we face daily..instead of letting Jesus carry them, we try to struggle on our own.. why don't we simply say to God, as Jesus said on the cross: "Father, into your hands i commit my spirit"..just lift it all up and offer all our troubles and worries up to Him, and He will take care of the rest. For in the bible, he also said "Come to me, all you who are laboured and heavy burdened, and i will give you rest"...

although i had been quite tired by the time the Divine Mercy prayers were over--and was even considering going home b4 the mass started, or even after the homily. but having somehow managed to stay all the way, i'm really glad i did. it's the message i knew that God wanted me, and knew that i needed, to hear.
